Been asked about doing a bit of animation with one of the teachers and his classes. Had a look at the commercial stuff and not really looking to pay for software just yet. I remember from one of our SLICT sessions someone talking about free software... anyone help out here would like to give it a go and if proves successful can look into other software.

Just a quick note to all EVICTS members who couldn't make it to our first gathering in 2009 on Wednesday, 8 April...
About 20 people attended Twizza and had a very relaxing and quite productive time too. While the theme of the meet was 'introduction to Twitter', we ended up chatting about all kinds of things (as you do towards the end of term).
For a fuller account of the afternoon please visit

Hi all
Last Saturday I had the honour of appearing on Classroom 2.0 Live show on the topic "Using Moodle in a classroom". Apart from the show starting at 1am (got to bed at around 3am...), it was a blast and I think all of us present got an awful lot out of it.
If you want to see the recording of the show, chat transcripts and/or audio, please visit

Which pencil (part) are you?
How do you sharpen them?
By the way... I got this via a friend over Twitter. If you are not on Twitter please consider joining. It is absolutely stunning how easy it is to stay in touch, learn, share, find things and let the human filter (rather than a computer one) do the work for you and with you.
If you are wondering 'w…

The images, sounds and stories from the massive bushfires in Victoria and their horrible toll have been crossing the globe over the last week. It has truly been a tragedy and it continues to rage.
There are dozens of stories of missing the loved ones, survival, reunions, hopes, uncertainty coming through the ‘conventional’ mass media. But driving to work this morning I heard a
powerful story on the loca…

A quick search of Google books today revealed a great selection of books suitable for classroom use across the entire K-12 range. Many have limited previews but I refined my search to isolate only those books offering '
Full View'. My preliminary collection which currently contains 184 books - mainly juvenile fiction and a few suited to WA Courses of Study - is available through
my Google library and includes boo…

Following the excellent Weaving Technology conference that was held in Wagga last October I composed a few ideas regarding the thought or process or getting started with technology in the classroom. I thought i would share these ideas again here as a cross post from the
Weaving Technology ning.
I also blogged about these ideas in more detail on my blog ~
Watershed.
Essentially, when starting out with tech…
